Build a reachable
delivery handoff.
A foreign visitor does not need a fake local identity. Test the official foreign-number route, prepare the address and lobby handoff, and know when to stop before a duplicate order or payment.

Illustration only. The current official platform, merchant and accommodation control the live order.
Meituan shows international country codes and has announced foreign-number ordering support, but availability can still vary by entry and account. Try the official live flow; if it rejects your number, use a staffed accommodation handoff—not a fake number or stranger’s identity.
Food delivery is not merely restaurant ordering on a smaller screen. The order has to connect a merchant, a payment record, a rider, a real entrance and a person who can be reached at the handoff.
A published country-code selector and platform update show that a supported foreign-number route exists. They do not prove that every Meituan entry, mini-program, partner app, merchant or international number succeeds today. The live official screen is the final test.
Use the strongest available route—without pretending it is guaranteed
International country codes
Meituan’s account service publishes a selector covering many country and region codes. Select the real code for the number you control.
Foreign-number ordering support
Meituan’s developer announcements list a food-delivery interface upgrade supporting orders placed with foreign mobile numbers.
Your screen still decides
Account, SMS delivery, app or mini-program entry, merchant, city, payment method and product rollout can change the result.
No fake or borrowed identity
If the route fails, do not enter a made-up Chinese number or pay a stranger for verification. Change to a staffed handoff.
Six facts make the order recoverable
- 01
Official platform entry
Use the official app, verified mini-program or platform page. Avoid copied QR codes, lookalike downloads and people offering account access.
- 02
Reachable number
Select the real country code and a number you control. Keep it active for SMS, in-app contact or rider calls when the current flow uses them.
- 03
Exact Chinese address
Ask the hotel or host for the Chinese property name, street address, building or gate and the rider-accessible entrance.
- 04
Agreed handoff
Confirm whether delivery goes to the lobby, gate, reception or another collection point. Do not assume the rider can enter the building or reach the room.
- 05
One order record
Save merchant, item list, total, order number and status. Use the minimum reference needed when asking for help.
- 06
One payment state
Distinguish not paid, successful, pending and failed. Do not reorder until you know whether the first merchant order exists.
Find the next safe action
Choose categories only. This tool does not ask for or send your phone number, address, order number, room, passport or payment data.
Confirm the address and handoff before choosing food.
The safest order is one where the platform, accommodation and traveler all recognize the same entrance.
- Ask for the exact Chinese delivery address.
- Confirm lobby or gate collection.
- Keep one reachable contact route active.
Move the handoff to someone you can verify
Ask the desk to define the delivery route
Ask for the exact Chinese address and collection point. If the property agrees, staff may help contact the restaurant or receive the rider at the lobby. The hotel decides what assistance it can provide.
Contact the verified host
Use the contact route inside the original accommodation booking. Ask for the correct building, gate, access note and a lawful way to receive the order.
Choose food you can collect in person
Use a nearby restaurant’s staffed counter or dine in. A real face-to-face handoff is safer than assigning a delivery to an unreachable number or uncertain building.
Stop
Do not share SMS codes, a payment QR, passport image, card photo, account password, ICCID, EID or IMEI. Do not let a stranger create the order under an identity you cannot control.
Do not buy twice because one screen closed
Confirm cart, address, handoff and final total before choosing the official payment route.
Do not send money directly to an unknown personal account.
Confirm the order exists and shows the merchant, items and delivery status.
Do not pay a second time because the rider asks outside the order.
Check the delivery order list and payment transaction state; ask platform or merchant whether the first order exists.
Do not submit another order until the first state is known.
Confirm no merchant order was created, then retry once with an official supported method or choose a staffed route.
Do not assume a bank alert alone proves merchant payment.
Already charged or waiting for a refund? Use the merchant → payment app → card issuer recovery guide.
Three privacy-safe Chinese cards
Please write the hotel’s food-delivery address in Chinese. Should delivery go to the lobby or entrance?
Please deliver to the lobby or reception. I will collect it. Please check only the order’s last digits.
Please confirm whether this order has been submitted and paid. Please do not place a duplicate order.
Show only the current order context. Hide unrelated notifications, full phone numbers, payment credentials, room numbers and identity documents.
Share what the handoff needs—nothing more
Recipient label, delivery address, reachable contact route, collection point and minimum order reference. Meituan’s rules describe these as core delivery details.
Passport image, card photo, passwords, SMS codes, payment QR, full account history, device identifiers and unrelated precise trip details.
Meituan says privacy-protected numbers are used by default, while some self-delivery or technical cases may expose the real number. Use a number you control and review the current notice.
A delivery note cannot guarantee ingredients or cross-contact. Use the dedicated allergy communication guide and stop if the restaurant cannot confirm safety.
China food-delivery FAQ
Can I order food delivery in China with a foreign phone number?
Meituan currently publishes an international country-code selector, and its developer announcements include a 2026 food-delivery interface update supporting orders with foreign mobile numbers. That is evidence of platform capability, not a guarantee that every app, mini-program, merchant or partner entry accepts every number. Test the live official flow and keep an accommodation-desk fallback.
Should I enter a fake Chinese number if my foreign number is rejected?
No. A fake or borrowed number can prevent the rider, merchant and support team from reaching the real recipient and can expose another person’s account or identity. Use an official supported number route or ask your hotel or staffed accommodation to help with the order and handoff.
What address should I use for food delivery to a China hotel?
Ask the hotel for its exact Chinese delivery address and whether riders must meet guests at the lobby, gate or another collection point. Use the hotel name, correct entrance or building and an approved handoff note; avoid putting a room number into free-text fields unless the hotel says it is necessary and safe.
What should I do if payment looks pending?
Do not place a second order immediately. Check the delivery order list and the payment app or card transaction state, then ask the merchant or platform whether the first order exists. A bank notification alone does not prove that the merchant received a completed order.
Can I rely on a delivery note for a serious food allergy?
No. A translated note or app option cannot guarantee ingredients, substitutions, kitchen practice or cross-contact. For a medically serious allergy, contact the restaurant directly through the official order route and do not proceed when staff cannot confirm the requirement.
What was checked—and what was rejected
Reviewed 27 August 2026. Meituan’s current pages control its account, delivery and privacy requirements. Doubao independently identified foreign-number delivery, handoff and payment-state questions as distinct visitor tasks; its unsupported assumptions were not used as facts. We rejected any universal promise of number acceptance, English support, delivery location, payment method, refund timing, merchant cooperation or allergy safety.
