The right place.
Not just a pin.
A foreign-visitor workflow for finding a place in Chinese, proving it is the correct branch or entrance, and carrying the destination from planning to walking, metro or ride-hailing.

Route only after the identifiers agree.
Use AMap Global as a live mainland route—not as the only source of truth. The booking or venue owns the identity; the map owns the route; your saved Chinese place card protects the handoff.
Do not ask one map to do four different jobs
Official venue or booking
Find the current attraction, hotel, restaurant, station or airport record and its official Chinese identity.
Four matching identifiers
Chinese name, full address, phone and district/landmark should point to the same place.
AMap Global or tested map
Use current walking, transit or driving directions only after the identity is correct.
Saved bilingual place card
Show the exact entrance or pickup wording to a driver, hotel, station or information desk.
Turn every critical stop into a verified place card
- 01
Open the source that owns the booking
Use the live hotel order, railway order, airline/airport page or attraction’s official visit information. Do not begin with a recycled blog address.
- 02
Copy the Chinese name first
Keep the exact characters, including branch, station, terminal, gate or campus wording. If only English is shown, ask the provider for the Chinese property record.
- 03
Match address, phone and district
One matching name is not enough. Compare at least two additional identifiers before saving the map result.
- 04
Choose the operational entrance
Save the gate, station exit, building level or vehicle pickup point that your next task actually uses—not the centre of the complex.
- 05
Screenshot the result and one surrounding landmark
Keep the name, address, phone, pin, entrance and nearby landmark readable without opening a new account or cloud page.
When English search returns nothing—or the wrong thing
Move to the destination city
Set the map around the correct city, then search the Chinese name. A global search from your current overseas location can be less useful than a city-scoped search.
Add district, branch or phone
Compare the booking address and phone. Never choose the nearest result merely because the brand is familiar.
Stop and ask the owner
Contact the accommodation, venue or booking provider. Save both the discrepancy and the corrected Chinese wording.
Use a separate place list
A notes file with English name, Chinese name, address, phone and screenshot is a valid primary planning layer; account sync is optional.
Entrance, exit and vertical level matter
Property branch + front desk entrance
Not the brand’s city search resultFull station name + departure entrance
Not “railway station” in the same cityAirport code + terminal + door/check-in zone
Not a generic airport pinTicket-valid visitor gate + current entry route
Not the centre of a park or palaceRoad side + pickup level + nearby landmark
Not a pin directly above or below youThis is especially important in Chongqing, large railway hubs, malls and multilevel transport complexes. If driver and passenger cannot see each other, compare the written road, floor, exit and landmark before moving the pin again.
If the map or phone data fails
Show the saved Chinese place card at an official information desk, staffed taxi rank, hotel front desk or station help point. Keep the next handoff and final walk separately from the map account.
- Chinese and English place name
- Full Chinese address
- Official phone number
- Entrance / exit / floor
- Map screenshot + nearby landmark
Use AI to draft a query—not to certify a location
Generate Chinese search terms, explain address components, draft a bilingual question, or compare two names you already obtained.
Branch identity, operating entrance, closure, transport time, ticket gate and pickup point must be checked with the map and responsible provider.
Do not paste passwords, verification codes, full payment-card data or unnecessary unmasked passport images into an AI chat.
China maps FAQ
What is the best map for China travel?
For most visitors, AMap Global is a useful mainland navigation route because its provider supports English and current local transport and place data. The safer system is not one app: discover a place through its official or booking source, verify the Chinese name and address, route with a mainland map, and keep a screenshot for the final handoff.
Why can I not find my China hotel in English?
The property may use a different translated name, branch name or map listing. Copy the Chinese property name and address from the live booking, then match the phone number, district and nearby landmark before saving the result. Never choose a pin only because the English names look similar.
Can I plan with AMap before I arrive in China?
The current AMap Global listing presents trip-preparation features, but device, region, login and data conditions can affect what an individual user sees. Move the map to the destination city, test the exact functions before departure and keep a separate place list if search or saving is incomplete.
Should I use AI to translate a destination into Chinese?
AI can suggest a search phrase, but it should not decide the final pin. Verify the suggestion against the attraction, hotel, station or booking owner and match multiple identifiers. For a live route, current venue and transport information controls.
